William Carson
William Carson never had to ask “When will I ever use this stuff?” in his college classes, because his classes were part of a customized Printing Technology curriculum at CVCC’s Bedford campus, and he works at a printing plant (Smyth Companies in Bedford).
Instead, as he attended courses either before or after work for 18 months, he recalls thinking “the things I’m learning right now, I can use right now!”
Carson credits his college studies with qualifying him for a recent promotion at the printing company. What’s more, he discovered that he actually enjoyed being back in the classroom. “I didn’t really like high school; but when I started taking these classes, I did well; it made me want to do more. I’ve taken other classes since then – and I’m going to keep on going!”
